Mineral County Friends of the Library seeks members
By the Missoulian

“Libraries can make a difference” is the theme of the Mineral County Friends of the Library. This dedicated group is looking for new members to support the county library system and help spread the word about the multitude of resources offered free to the public.

The Friends of the Library meet at 1:30 p.m. every third Friday of the month in the foyer of the Superior branch library. There are no membership fees to join this informal group of citizens dedicated to enhancing library services to Mineral County residents.

Formed in 2001, the Friends of the Library through raffles, bake sales, coffee rest stops, and chili read and feeds have raised hundreds of dollars to support children's reading incentive programs and purchase items not allocated in the library's limited budget.

In addition to fundraising, FOL members now have the opportunity to volunteer at their local branch library in Alberton, St. Regis or Superior. An important part of the new volunteer program will be delivering books and other library materials to homebound residents.

Further information can be obtained from Jim Goss, president, at 822-5000, or Dan Arnsan, treasurer, 822-4935.
