OGDEN, Utah - For the first time in six weeks Montana’s Mandy Morales was not named Big Sky Conference women’s basketball player of the week. Instead the honor was shared by teammate Sonya Rogers.

The Lewistown sophomore shared the weekly honor with Idaho State’s Natalie Doma.

Rogers averaged 19 points, four rebounds and 3.5 assists per game as Montana opened 2-0 in Big Sky Conference play by beating Portland State, 85-67, and Eastern Washington, 92-55 at home last week.

Rogers hit 14-for-23 from the field, 7-for-9 from 3-point range and 3-for-4 from the free throw line. She scored a career-high 27 points in the victory over the Vikings. Her previous career high was 16.

Doma notched a career-high 35 points and a season-high 19 rebounds as Idaho State knocked off Utah Valley State 85-74 Saturday in Orem, Utah. She had 22 points and 11 rebounds at the end of the first half.

Doma’s 35 points tied Morales for the most points scored in a single game this season. The 19 boards is the highest single game mark in the conference this season.
