The Dana Gallery is doing a little spring cleaning this First Friday, while Monte Dolack's chilly ode to winter is one of the many prints he'll be exhibiting at the monthly Art Walk.“Proffer and Offer,” says owner Dudley Dana - much of the art is on sale and every price is negotiable. The Dana is also featuring new works by Ted Waddell, Janet Sullivan and Susan Hodgin.
The Trail Head this month features the very stirring photography of photographer Lindsey Nelson, intimate shots from Nepal, India, Peru and Chile.
Photography is also the medium this month at Miss Zula's, where shutterbug Dan Cripe's faces of Missoula homelessness will certainly hit home. Cripe is a photographer for the University of Montana, and has shot Grizzly athletics events as well as concerts by Pearl Jam and the Rolling Stones.
Curiosity may have killed the cat, but it serves humanity well: “curious,” at Gallery Saintonge, is an exhibit of local, regional and national photographs that examine the landscape of the odd, exotic and - well, curious.
And at the Gold Dust Gallery, three local printmakers - Caleb Sheridan, Craig Weinke and Christine Cleveland - join together for a group show called “The Withdrawing Room,” a show examining ideas of humanity in nature and social interaction with mass media. The Friday opening features live music and refreshments.
