CROW AGENCY - A prayer service is scheduled here Wednesday for a 17-month-old boy whose body was found in the Bighorn River.

An autopsy conducted in Hardin confirmed that Cash Wells drowned, officials said Tuesday.

Searchers discovered the boy’s body at about 9 p.m. Monday. Officials believe the child fell into the Little Bighorn River and was carried 25 to 30 miles downstream into the Bighorn.

The toddler was reported missing Friday afternoon after wandering away from his grandmother’s home east of Crow Agency. More than 100 people joined the search for the missing boy.

A prayer service is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday in the multipurpose building in Crow Agency, according to the Bullis Mortuary.

Traditional wake services will be held Thursday and Friday in Two Medicine. Burial is scheduled for Saturday.
