After Dillon put up five runs in the top of the first, the Mavs scored six times in the bottom of the fifth, highlighted by two-run singles by Sam Sopko and Matt McMann to take a 7-6 advantage. But the Cubs touched up Missoula starter Wes Martens for a pair in the sixth to earn the win.
Zach McRae pitched a complete game for the Cubs, scattering six hits. He walked two and struck out eight. Chance Plutt paced Dillon's bats, going 3-for-4 with an RBI triple in the Cubs' big first inning.

Mariners earn sweep
At Florence, the Mission Valley Mariners took both ends of a Class A doubleheader with the Bitterroot Bucs, winning the first game 7-4 and the second 7-3.
Brandon Thompson struck out 10 hitters in earning the victory for the Mariners on the hill in the opener. He allowed six hits and four walks.
Jon Rausch hit a solo home run in the fifth and finished 2-for-4 for Mission Valley. Tim Rausch was 2-for-4 and Will Gordon doubled and went 3-for-4 for the M's.
Matthew Perez had the Bucs' only multi-hit performance, going 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Brandon Ray went the distance to get the win for the Mariners in the second game. He fanned seven, allowed seven hits and four walks.
Eric Locke went 3-for-4 with a double and Gordon had three singles for Mission Valley.
Perez doubled and was 3-for-4, while Dominic Goble had three singles for Bitterroot.
