New associates

Demaras Silvia Demaras has accepted the position of outreach coordinator for the Women's Club. Demaras has been with the Women's Club since April 2006. She is a Yoga Alliance-registered yoga instructor as well as a Fitlinxx instructor. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Central Florida in Orlando.

Gianchetta Curtis Howell Missoula Aging Services has hired three new staff members. Tracee Gianchetta is care management program manager, a new position in the expanding area of elder care management. Gianchetta completed undergraduate studies in social work at the University of Montana and earned a master's degree in social services administration and management from Portland State University. She has worked for a variety of elder care facilities and organizations. Andrea Curtis has joined MAS as an information and assistance specialist/ombudsman. She earned a bachelor's degree in psychology at the University of Montana and previously was employed as a neurobehavioral technician. Rhonda Howell has been hired as a receptionist in the administration department. She has an extensive clerical background with the city, county and state as well as at two law firms.

Sanderson Grant Sanderson has joined Pyron Technologies as an information technology sales representative. Sanderson brings six years of experience in sales and technical support in the office equipment industry. Sanderson graduated from Indiana University with a bachelor's degree in business management.

Baumann Megan Baumann has joined the staff of Marketplace Media, her family's business, as event marketing coordinator, specializing in corporate and nonprofit event planning and organizing. Megan is a 2007 Salute to Excellence “Rising Star” award recipient and has volunteered at several Missoula organizations. She received a degree in psychology from the University of Montana.

Promotions

Riggs Heidi Riggs has been promoted from a customer service representative to a team leader at DirecTV.

Peters Justin Peters has been promoted from a customer service representative to a desktop administrator at DirecTV.

Recognition

Patricia Corrigan Ekness, senior account executive for FedEx in western Montana, has earned Ambassador's Club status for the 2007 fiscal year. This distinction is based on territory growth, customer retention and territory profitability. It is awarded to FedEx sales professionals who perform in the top 10 percent of the company overall.

Johnson DayScott Johnson was first in sales and Jim Day was the top listing agent for the Missoula office of Coldwell Banker Wachholz & Co. for the month of August.

KPAX-TV sales team members were inducted into the Jim Manning Society at the annual Montana Broadcasters Association awards luncheon recently. The Jim Manning Society recognizes excellence in broadcast sales. KPAX inductees are Keith Koprivica, John Mitzel, Nancy Glueckert, Matt Hermes and Robert Vaughn. The MBA also recognized Hermes and Vaughn with the Top Seller of 2006 award.

Gray Shawn Gray of Youth Homes Inc. has received the Missoula Businesswomen's Network Flying High Award. The Flying High Award is presented four times each year and honors women who have achieved personal or professional growth or who have made significant contributions to the Missoula Businesswomen's Network and the community.

David Laursen, a Farmer's Insurance agent in Missoula, has been inducted into Farmers' Topper Club of top sales producers.

Madsen Richard Madsen has received the Governor's Award for Excellence in Performance for 2007. Each year a group of state employees is recognized for outstanding performance and dedication to state government. Madsen has been an employment specialist in the Missoula Job Service Workforce Center for six years. Before that, he spent 33 years in the mining industry working in Illinois, northern Ontario, Minnesota and Michigan starting as an accountant and retiring in 2001 as a senior manager of financial control.

Baumgartner Burke Ferguson Garnaas Knudsen McCoy Community Medical Center has recognized Thomas Baumgartner, M.D.; Timothy Burke, M.D.; Paul Ferguson, M.D.; Mark Garnaas, M.D.; Valerie Knudsen, M.D.; and Craig McCoy, M.D., for excellent patient satisfaction scores from February through April 2007. The physicians are all obstetricians/gynecologists on CMC's medical staff.

Certification

Smitherman Danny Smitherman, a database developer and project manager with Pyron Technologies, earned the Fortis qualified professional certification.
