We Care: Families seeking school clothes for their children

- Two families who are currently being served by the Western Montana Mental Health Center are in need of school clothes for their children. Three boys require clothes size 12/14 boy's, 7/8 boy's, and large men's shirts and size 36 pants. One girl needs size 6X clothing. Shoe sizes needed are 10 men's, 7 boy's, 12 1/2 and 1 1/2. Gently used clothing is welcome as well as gift cards or new clothing. If you can help call Erica House, 532-9779.

- A hardworking man has suffered a series of unfortunate events that ultimately left him unable to work and keep his apartment. In the process of losing his apartment he lost most of his belongings. Now back to work, he is unable to afford the basics of his household. His necessities includes a microwave, small kitchen table and chairs, soft chair/recliner, pots and pans and a vacuum cleaner. - Veterans residing in Valor House, the transitional housing program for homeless veterans, would greatly appreciate and have use for the following items: several small computer stands, a recliner, full mattress (box springs not needed), microwaves and drain boards for dish racks. One of the veterans needs some assistance with his vehicle as he is unable to walk more than a very limited distance. He needs all-terrain radial tires size P235/75R15, for a 1997 Isuzu 4x4. He also needs a brake adjustment and a right rear axle seal installed. For questions or to donate, contact Valor House program manager Michelle Stosich, 829-3928.

- The mother of two children, a toddler and a preschooler, is in need of a washer and dryer, and a computer to help her attain a GED and further her education. If you can help, contact Amy Veltkamp in Parents as Teachers, a program of WORD in Missoula, at 543-3550, Ext. 224.

- The young mother of two is unable to get to work right now because her Honda Civic needs a CV joint. The part is only $60 and a Friends To Youth employee will make sure the money is used toward this service. This mother struggles to pay the bills and needs her car in order to keep her job. - A woman with a traumatic brain injury needs assistance to visit the Mayo Clinic for specialized neck surgery which will enhance her quality of life. Donations of cash for travel, lodging and expenses and/or frequent-flier miles on American or Northwestern airlines would be appreciated. Donations may be tax deductible.
