Former Montana governor to speak at shooting victim's funeral

DENVER - A former Montana governor will speak at the funeral of a man shot to death, allegedy by an off-duty sheriff's deputy, during an apparent road-rage incident in Colorado.

An attorney for the victim's family says former Montana Governor Judy Martz will give a tribute to David Rossiter of Sheridan, Montana, at his funeral Sunday in the Sheridan Grade School gym.

The 25-year-old Rossiter was a former junior high school coach. Police in Lakewood, Colorado, says he was shot and killed last Friday night by Arapahoe County Sheriff's Deputy Daniel Montana Jr.

Martz spoke at an awards ceremony when Rossiter earned his Eagle Scout award.

Deputy Montana was placed on administrative leave as the investigation continues.
