The 12th annual Habitat for Humanity “Messiah” concert will take place at 7:30 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 25, in the University Theater on the campus of the University of Montana. The concert is free of charge, but free-will donations will be accepted.

Bringing together professional soloists, a 30-piece orchestra, and a community choir of about 100, the concert involves the community as performers, audience, and benefactors. The concert is about an hour in length.

Singers are needed. The professional musicians volunteer their talents, and the community choir collects pledges in order to participate in the event - a minimum of $75 for adults and $40 for students. Pledge sheets are available on line at www.habitatmsla.org or call concert coordinator Nancy Cooper at 243-2080. Singers collecting the most pledges receive prize packages donated by area businesses.

The concert features Ron Wilcott as conductor. The soloists performing, all from the University of Montana Music Department, will be Anne Basinski, soprano; Kimberly Gratland James, mezzo-soprano; David Cody, tenor; and Stephen Kalm, baritone. The orchestra members come from the Montana Symphony Orchestra, the String Orchestra of the Rockies, the University of Montana Symphony, and area high school orchestras.

There will be a mandatory rehearsal on Sunday from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the University Theater for the chorus.
