Daniel Allen Dietz, who pleaded guilty to felony sexual abuse charges on Oct. 3., was sentenced Tuesday to 50 years in prison with 40 years suspended.
"I feel that this defendant as he sits here today poses a danger to the community and his own children," District Judge Dorothy McCarter said.
He will have to undergo sex offender treatment and will remain under supervision after he is released from prison until he is 86 years old.
Dietz will be allowed to have chaperoned visits with his two daughters, ages 7 and 9, if approved by a counselor.
Dietz didn't react as the girl's mother read a statement in court.
"I believe you are where you belong," she said. "This is the only way to keep your daughters and all of the other children safe."
