Nonrofit - Benefit auction helps provide school trips

• The Travelers’ Rest Preservation and Heritage Association will hold its second annual benefit auction on Friday, Jan. 18. The auction benefits the Travelers’ Rest Education Program, which provides hands-on field trips for more than 3,000 students each year.

The auction will be held at the DoubleTree Hotel in Missoula from 5:30 to 9 p.m. This year’s featured artist is Bob Neaves from Hamilton, whose original landscape piece will be the centerpiece of the live auction. Two silent auctions will also be held with items of art, food, jewelry, entertainment and other unique gifts available.

Tickets are $40, and a table for eight is $300. Heavy hors d’oeuvres will be provided. Tickets must be purchased by Jan. 15. Items for the auction will be accepted through Friday, Jan. 11. To make a contribution or to purchase tickets, call the TRPHA office at 273-4253.

• Tools 4 School is holding its second annual Warm 4 Winter Blanket Drive. New blankets and pillows are gathered to help local low-income families. The goal is to gather 1,000 new blankets and pillows.
