By the Missoulian

After ranking in the top five for most of the season, Montana junior Sonya Rogers took over the top spot in the nation in 3-point field goal percentage in the NCAA weekly statistics released Monday. Rogers has hit 44 of her 92 3-point attempts this season for 47.8 percent.

Rogers, of Lewistown, ranked fourth in last Monday's national statistics at 47.6 percent but used a 4-for-8 performance from 3-point range against Northern Colorado to move into the top spot. Rogers hit all four of her 3-pointers against the Bears in the second half Saturday night as the Lady Griz rallied from a three-point halftime deficit to win 73-69.

Rounding out the nation's top five 3-point shooters are senior Whitney Lewis of Wright State (.471), senior Andrea Lightfoot of Idaho State (.470), senior Kiki Lund of Dayton (.465) and junior Alexis Gray-Lawson of California (.465).
