A spokeswoman for St. Vincent Healthcare says 18-year-old pilot Andrew Scheffer was discharged late Thursday morning, a day after he was rescued on Big Pryor Mountain, about 40 miles south of Billings.
The 18-year-old freshman at Rocky Mountain College was on a solo training flight from Billings to Powell, Wyo., when the small plane crashed late Tuesday. Scheffer is a student in the college's aviation program and the plane was registered to the school.
