An Amber Alert has been issued for a Townsend woman, Leslee R. Hebein-Etapa, 49, and her two young children.

Hebein-Etapa is 5 feet 7 inches tall, 140 pounds, and has brown hair and brown eyes.

Faith Etapa, 8, is 4 feet tall, weighs 45 pounds, has an average build, blue eyes, long, brown hair and a fair complexion.

Grace Etapa, 7, is also 4 feet tall, has an average build, weighs 45 pounds, has blue eyes, long blonde hair and a fair complexion. She has a scar on her left knee and her left hand.

They are traveling in a brown 2002 Jeep Liberty with a push bumper on the front of the vehicle and a luggage rack on the roof, Montana license plate 43-6519. According to the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department in Wausau, Wis., they may be headed north on Interstate 15 toward Canada.

The children were reported missing to the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department at 5 p.m. Friday, according to a dispatcher, and they issued the Amber Alert at that time.

It is believed that the father, who has legal custody of the children, lives in Marathon County and made the report.

Hebein-Etapa and her children moved to the Townsend area in June 2007, according to Broadwater County Sheriff Brenda Ludwig.

Broadwater County deputies have been searching for Hebein-Etapa and her children since about noon Wednesday, Ludwig said.

Alert the authorities if Hebein-Etapa or her children are spotted.
