Ryan Weigle had a three-run homer in Bitterroot's nine-run first frame. Other first-inning highlights for the Red Sox included a two-run double by Wes Sherman and an RBI double by Austin Allen. He finished 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles.
Brown, Bitterroot's second reliever of the evening, entered in the sixth and earned the win to move to 1-0. He tossed three scoreless frames before Allen picked up his second save of the season by allowing just one run in the ninth.
The Mavericks (5-2), got home runs from Taylor Nordby and Brendan Brown. They hit the road for a doubleheader Saturday with the Great Falls Stallions.

The Class A Mavs scored eight times in the bottom of the sixth to break a 6-6 tie and went on to win in seven innings due to the 10-run margin rule at Lindborg-Cregg Field.
Derrick Dauenhauer got the win in relief of Missoula starter CJ Wulf. Dauenhauer tossed the final three frames, holding the Bucs hitless while walking two and striking out one. He moved to 1-1.
Cole Tybur went 3-for-5 with four RBIs to pace the Mavericks (4-1) on offense. He belted a three-run double in the sixth. Missoula center fielder Matt McMann drove in a run and finished with four singles.
Jeremy Stevens smacked an RBI triple in the first for Bitterroot.

At Anaconda, Anthony Marrujo's single in the 10th scored Cory Orrino with the winning run as the A's grabbed a win.
Orrino went 2-for-5 and Marrujo added a pair of RBIs to lead Anaconda at the plate.
Ron Ward, the A's third reliever, got the win by throwing the final three frames for Anaconda.
The A's scored five times with two outs in the eighth to tie it and eventually send it to the extra frame.
Will Anderson was 2-for-5 with a double and two RBIs for Deer Lodge.
