The Mavs belted 18 hits to down their opponent in a game that was jam-packed with offense. The two teams combined for four homers and 11 doubles, with Billings finishing with three of the long balls.
Missoula though, had plenty of shots that stayed in the park to make up the difference. Ben Roberts and Taylor King combined for five of the Mavericks' eight doubles to guide Missoula (11-4) to the win.
Jordan Heringer, Alex Bushman and Jordan Roberts each homered for the Scarlets (5-4).
Brendon Brown pitched five innings of seven-run ball to deliver the win for Missoula.
The Mavs are back on the diamond Wednesday at home for a 6:30 p.m. game against the Mission Valley Mariners.

Mavs, Spikes split pair
Derrick Dauenhauer hit a two-run triple in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift the Class A Missoula Mavericks past the Bozeman Spikes 5-4 in the second half of a doubleheader at Lindborg-Cregg Field.
Bozeman won the opener 5-3.
Trailing 4-3 entering the final frame of the nightcap, Missoula put two runners on with a walk to Brody Miller and a single by Cole Tybur, who finished 3-for-4. Dauenhauer then delivered his game-ending triple into the left-center field gap.
The clutch hit made a winner out of Brent Daugherty (2-0). Daugherty went the distance, allowing seven hits while walking two.
Bozeman's Dillon Peterson went 2-for-3 to lift the Spikes to the win in the opener. Bozeman capitalized on six Missoula errors.
Collin LaPorte and Andrew Bewley each had a pair of hits for the Mavs.
Missoula (10-3) will host Dillon on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Lindborg-Cregg Field.

Mariners sweep Rangers
At Polson, the Mission Valley Mariners took both sides of a doubleheader against the Kootenai Valley Rangers.
The Mariners warmed up with a 13-3 win and then handed a 12-2 decision to the Rangers in the late game.
John Rausch was 3-for-4 with a double to lead Mission at the plate in the first game, while he struck out six and walked two from the mound.
Andrew Lowe was a 2-for-2 with an RBI to pace the Rangers in the early game.
Beau Nordberg was 2-for-4 with an RBI and pitched a five-hit complete game to lead Mission in the nightcap. Austin Moran was 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs for Kootenai.

Red Sox sweep Bucs
At Hamilton, the Red Sox put together a pair of 16-5 wins to down the Bucs in a doubleheader between the Bitterroot Valley rivals.
Paul Donaldson had four strikeouts in three innings to deliver the early win for the Sox. Matt Hamlin was 3-for-3 with a solo home run to lead the way on offense.
Josh Zeiler had a double and a two RBIs for the Bucs in the opener.
Ryan Weigle had five strikeouts in the nightcap to lead the Red Sox with a seven-hit complete game.
Brady Anderson was 2-for-3 with a homer and two RBIs for the Sox, who improved to 2-0 in conference and 8-2 overall.
Austin Erler and Max Burns each doubled and finished with a pair of hits in the late game for the Bucs.

Gallatin Valley
At Deer Lodge, the Wranglers took a pair of wins from Gallatin Valley in a doubleheader.
Deer Lodge cruised to an 11-1 victory in the first game and closed out the day with an 11-3 win.
Dean Despain was 4-for-4 with a double and three RBIs to lead the way in the early game for the Wranglers. He was also hit by a pitch twice to reach base in all six of his at-bats.
Blake Niederklein had eight strikeouts and went the distance to lead Deer Lodge.
Joe Stefalo was 3-for-4 with a double, a homer and four RBIs to pace the Wranglers in the late game. Will Anderson pitched through five innings for the win.
Mike Newsome had two hits to lead Gallatin Valley.
