Baucus, groups, Plum Creek to discuss major conservation proposal near Missoula

MISSOULA - Montana Sen. Max Baucus will join with representatives of Plum Creek Timber Co., the Trust for Public Land and the Nature Conservancy near the Blackfoot River on Friday to outline the framework for a major land conservation project.

Baucus included a new bonding provision in the recently enacted Farm Bill that will provide up to $250 million to purchase private land for public access for hunting and fishing.

The event will take place at the Angevine Park Picnic Area less than 10 miles northeast of Bonner on Montana Highway at 2:30 p.m Friday.
