Missoula polling places show steady traffic
By BILL SCHWANKE of Missoulian.com

Missoula-area polling places were showing steady traffic through the morning and early afternon hours Tuesday.

That's pretty normal for a general election, but since this is a primary, officials are still holding out hope for a record turnout for Missoula County.

With about 11,000 absentee ballots distributed prior to election day, the signs are there for a high voting percentage for the county.

"It's steady, (but) it's not something they can't handle yet," Missoula County Clerk and Recorder Vickie Zeier said shortly after noon Tuesday. "I do expect the (longer) lines to begin probably around 5 o'clock."

Zeier also expected late registrations to pick up later in the day. As of noon her office had processed about 100 of them.
