BUTTE - Authorities said Tuesday that two people were killed this week in separate vehicle accidents in southwestern Montana.

Jon K. Manke, of Manhattan, was killed Sunday evening when he lost control of his motorcycle south of Cardwell and crashed into a group of trees, said Dave Schenk, Madison County's sheriff and coroner.

Authorities said the 62-year-old Manke was pronounced dead at a hospital. The Montana Highway Patrol said alcohol and speed were factors in the crash.

Meanwhile, a 25-year-old Indiana man died Monday night when he lost control of his pickup truck south of Dillon and was ejected. His name wasn't released pending notification of his family.
