Missoula man to be inducted into Montana officials hall of fame

BILLINGS - Tom Taylor of Missoula and Doug Ellingson of Miles City will be inducted into the Montana Officials Association Hall of Fame.

Taylor officiated for 32 years, 10 of those as a basketball official. He was a master or top-rated football official for 23 years.

Taylor also was an officer of the Missoula football pool and helped formulate its bylaws.

The Montana High School Association says Ellingson's officiating career spanned 33 years. He was ranked as a master or top-rated football official for 27 years and officiated more than 40 postseason football playoffs.

He also was a boys' and girls' basketball official for 30 years, 27 of those at a master rating.

Ellingson held offices in the Miles City football and basketball officials pools, and served the officials association as a district delegate.
