Salmon hands ‘A' Mavs pair of losses

SALMON, Idaho - Salmon swept a Class A Legion doubleheader from the Missoula Mavericks on Monday afternoon.

Salmon won the opener 7-4 and the nightcap 6-4.

A five-run second inning doomed the Mavs in the opener.

Brody Miller was 2-for-4 with an RBI triple for the Mavs while Robby King and Collin LaPorte both went 2-for-4.

A six-run third inning was the Mavs' undoing in the nightcap.

Conner Anderson was 2-for-3 with a run scored for the Mavs. Andrew Bewley and CJ Wulf each had a pair of singles.

Missoula, 19-12 overall and 1-3 in league, will travel to Polson to face Mission Valley in a doubleheader on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
