The United States Naval Academy announced that six Montana students have received appointments to the Naval Academy Class of 2012. Reporting to the Academy in Annapolis, Md., on July 2 will be Kathryn Barry from Billings Senior High School, Martin Bennett from Bozeman Senior High School, Rachel Lisi from Frenchtown High School, Patrick Tucker from Billings Skyview High School and the University of Montana, Weston Bartkoski from Columbia Falls High School and Nicholas Metroka, a home-schooled student from Helena.
Air Force
Airman Christopher M. McComas and Airman Janelle Pruitt graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. McComas is the son of Christina Mill of Casper, Wyo., and Michael McComas of Paradise. He is a 2007 graduate of Plains High School. Pruitt is the daughter of Caron Gotcher-Kelley of St. Regis and is a 2006 graduate of St. Regis High School.
Cadet Brad J. Seifert graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo. He received a bachelor of science degree in aeronautical engineering and was commissioned as a second lieutenant. Seifert is the son of Keith and Jeanne Seifert of Glendive. His grandparents are Carl and Peggy Seifert of Polson.
Army
National Guard Pfc. Jonah J. Matt graduated from Infantryman One Station Unit Training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga. Matt is the son of Amanda Louie of Pablo.
National Guard Maj. Susan M. Hocker arrived for duty at Fort Bliss, El Paso, Texas. Hocker, an executive officer with 29 years of military service, is assigned to the Warrior Transition Unit. She is the daughter of William and Phyllis Hocker of Ronan.
Pvt. Robert Toshoff graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. Toshoff is the son of Bob Toshoff of Missoula and Christine Toshoff of Corvallis. He is a 2003 graduate of Big Sky High School.
Ryan T. Broyhill has joined the U.S. Army under the Delayed Entry program. He reported for duty at Fort Drum Watertown, N.Y. Broyhill is the son of Tiffany Broyhill of Thompson Falls.
Cadet Joseph Patrick Randall graduated from the U.S. Military Academy. He concentrated his studies in electrical engineering with honors. He was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army within the Signal Corps branch and will report to Wiesbaden, Germany. He is the son of Jerry and Kathy Randall and grandson of Pat and Lois Marcinkowski.
Marines
Sgt. Cory W. Hamilton completed Expeditionary Strike Group Integration Training while assigned to the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit based at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, N.C. Hamilton is the son of Sharon McClelland of Columbia Falls and a 2003 graduate of Columbia Falls High School.
Navy
Petty Officer 1st Class Hal Bobbitt and approximately 400 sailors were mobilized and deployed to the Middle East while assigned to Navy Expeditionary Logistics Support Group based at Yorktown Naval Weapons Station-Cheatham Annex, Williamsburg, Va. Bobbitt is the son of Mildred and Hal Bobbitt of Missoula and is a 1979 graduate of Sentinel High School.
Staff Sgt. David C. McMullen reported for duty at Marine Corps Recruiting Station, Milwaukee, Wis. McMullen is a 1996 graduate of Columbia Falls High School.
Jordan S. Michels, a 2002 graduate of Flathead High School, enlisted in the U.S. Navy under the Delayed Entry Program at Naval Recruiting District, Portland, Ore. She will report for active duty at the Navy’s Recruit Training Center, Great Lakes, Ill.
