GETTING AHEAD

New associates

Brian Stocking has joined Thomas, Dean & Hoskins, Engineering Consultants to lead the new structural engineering department in its Kalispell office. Stocking brings 28 years of structural engineering and project management experience to Thomas, Dean & Hoskins, including in residential, commercial, industrial and institutional structures worldwide. He earned his bachelor's degree at Montana State University and most recently was associated with Dallas Engineering Services.

Brian Beckman has joined RE/MAX Realty Consultants, LLC as a sales associate.

Victor Powell has joined the staff at AAA Insurance in the company's Missoula service center. Powell is a licensed property and casualty insurance agent and has experience in customer service.

Gina Ryan has joined the Child Care Resources family services department as a caseworker. Ryan brings 20 years of experience as a child care provider. She will assist families in finding child care that is right for their children.

Cathy Loucks has joined Rocky Mountain Bank as a mortgage loan specialist at its Kalispell office. Loucks' primary duties will be to help homebuyers find financing options that fit their needs. Loucks has worked in the banking industry for 30 years. For the last eight years, she was in title insurance as a corporate marketing representative in Montana and Idaho. Loucks attended the University of Montana and is pursuing a degree in business finance from the University of Phoenix.

Cameron Vert has joined Lambros Real Estate ERA's Polson office. Vert has been in real estate for four years.

Seana Fitzpatrick McGarvey, formerly of Roosters Men's Grooming Center, is now at the Do-Crew Salon. She is accepting both women and men clients.

Barbara Hall has joined the Montana Water Trust Inc. as executive director. Hall will coordinate staff efforts, serve as a primary contact for collaboration with agencies and organizations, and manage daily operations. Hall is a graduate of the University of Montana School of Law and has experience in water rights and in-stream flow restoration. She previously worked as a project manager for the trust, and most recently served a wide variety of state government clients as a public finance attorney.

Relocation

Marsha L. Kirchner, a licensed clinical professional counselor, has relocated her office to 2455 Dixon, Suite A. Kirchner provides individual counseling to children, adolescents and adults, as well as family and marital counseling.

Promotions

Genevieve Anderson has been promoted to the position of family services caseworker at Child Care Resources. Anderson previously worked for CCR for almost two years as a receptionist. She helps families find child care for their children.

Elected

The Missoula Symphony Association has elected Dolores Bandow, Patricia Clay, Thomas Copley, Bob Robertson and Kimberly Roth to its board of directors. The Symphony Association's board of directors elected the following officers for 2008-09: Anne Guest, president; Lynda Frost, president elect; Michael Nave, vice president; David Rehbein, treasurer; and Sarah Towle, secretary. Jim Valeo will continue to serve on the

executive committee as past president.

Recognition

David Rehbein received the Sophie Trophy, the Missoula Symphony Association's annual award for outstanding service on the board of directors.

Tom Siegel, a certified executive chef at the University of Montana's Dining Services, was named Chef of the Year by the Montana Chefs Association, the local chapter of the American Culinary Federation. He has been an ACF member since 1995 and received Chef of the Year honors for the first time that same year. Siegel has won numerous regional, national and international culinary awards individually and on behalf of UM. Siegel helped create the Dining Services culinary faculty and was instrumental in the establishing the culinary professional career ladder that is used throughout the Montana university system. He attended the Coselli School in Italy; the Culinary Institute of America in St. Helena, Calif.; the Instituto Gastronómico de Querétaro; and twice the Sazón cooking school in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.

The University of Montana's Dining Services won the Silver Award from the National Association of College and University Food Services for a catering event it designed to showcase sustainable practices.

Payne Financial Group Inc. has been recognized by The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America and Reagan Consulting a 2007 Best Practices Agencies. Payne Financial Group provides insurance solutions, surety, employee benefits and financial services for private individuals and businesses.

Heather M. Latino of Paoli, Latino & Kutzman P.C. was named by Super Lawyers as a Mountain States Rising Star. Latino was the only attorney in Montana to receive this recognition in the practice area of general personal injury representing plaintiffs.

Among the top 75 lawyers who received the highest point totals in the 2008 Mountain States edition of Super Lawyers are Randy J. Cox of Boone, Karlberg and William Evan Jones of Garlington, Lohn & Robinson. Among the top 40 women who received the highest point total from Missoula are Candace C. Fetscher of Garlington, Lohn & Robinson and private attorney Karen S. Townsend.

Cherie Hansen, broker/associate with RE/MAX of Bigfork was fourth in sales for the state of Montana for the month of March.

Michael Johnston was chosen as Employee of the Month for June at Express Employment Professionals.
