Down 10-1 after five innings, the O's scored three in the sixth and five more in the seventh to cut the deficit to 10-9. But that was as close as Missoula would come in suffering its second consecutive series sweep and falling to 4-16.
Great Falls (13-7) kept pace with the Billings Mustangs atop the league's Northern Division standings due in part to a six-run fifth frame that featured a three-run homer by right fielder Lyndon Estill and a two-run single by center fielder Jordan Cheatham. Estill totaled a team-high four RBIs, while Cheatham finished 1-for-1 with three RBIs.
After the Voyagers took a 4-1 lead in the fourth on a two-out double by designated hitter Danny Jordan, Quezada allowed the first three Great Falls hitters to reach safely in the fifth before yielding to reliever Pedro Rodriguez. He fanned the flames by plunking Johny Celis with the bases loaded on his first pitch, then allowed Cheatham's two-run single and Estill's third home run of the season. Quezada was charged with three runs in an inning pitched.
But trailing by nine, the Osprey went to work by scoring three in the sixth before a two-run homer by Alberto Diaz capped Missoula's five-run seventh that brought the O's within 10-9.
Great Falls added single runs in the seventh and eighth for the final margin of victory.
Daniel Hudson tossed six innings to earn the win for the Voyagers, allowing four runs on six hits and a walk. The Old Dominion product fanned six to give him a total of 22 strikeouts in 17 innings.
Hudson was relieved by Stephen Sauer in the seventh, who was charged with five runs on three hits.
Missoula was led by first baseman Ryne White, who went 4-for-4 with a homer, a double, and three RBIs. Diaz finished 2-for-5 and also drove in three.
The Osprey will take their first day off Monday before returning to Ogren-Allegiance Park for a seven-game homestand beginning Tuesday against the Casper Ghosts.
