The Blast was one of 265 teams from the United States and Canada to be in the event. After an opening round of pool play the Blast were seeded into the silver bracket and were one victory away from being in the six-team finals of the silver bracket's 54-team field.
In loser-out play Saturday the Blast beat the Washington Acers Gold 4-3, Chico Starz 3-2 and Texas Shock 6-3, before the San Jose Sharks halted their run with an 11-1 win.
Corvallis' Kasie Conder pitched all eight games of the Colorado tourney, which acted as a warmup for the state ASA tournament this weekend in Kalispell. The Blast are the defending U18 champs.
In bracket play Friday, the Blast beat Texas Stix Gold 5-0. Heather Haegele of Kalispell was 3-for-4 and Missoula's Rose Harrington was 2-for-3 with two RBIs. The Blast ran their record to 5-1 with an 11-8 win over California Panthers Gold. Missoula's Rachel Eisenmann went 3-for-3 with three RBIs and Polson's Amanda James hit a two-run homer. A 13-2 loss to Ho'Onou, Hawaii dropped the Blast into the loser's bracket.
The Blast went 3-1 in pool play, beating the Texas Swing 6-4, the Runnin' Rebels Gold 8-2 and the Fresno Force 8-2. They lost to the Ontario Whitby Eagles.
Kirsten Wagener, of Missoula, hit a three-run home run to end the game against the Runnin' Rebels.
