The M's opened with a 10-6 victory and followed it up with a 6-2 decision in the nightcap.
Craig Bagnell went 3-for-4 in the early game to pace the Mission Valley bats. The Mariners spread out 14 hits over the contest and held Missoula to just a single run through six innings, before the Mavericks came up short with a five-run rally in the bottom of the seventh.
Tim Rausch had the right stuff for the Mariners in the late game. Rausch was 4-for-4 with a double, triple and a pair of singles. On the mound, he struck out five and walked one en route to a two-run complete game.
Missoula, which dropped to 1-7 in conference and 24-20 overall, will look to get back on track Wednesday with a doubleheader on the road against the Bozeman Spikes. The first game begins at 1 p.m.
