New office



Allstate Insurance Company opened a new office at 410 Expressway Suite B. The office is independently owned and operated by agent Sharon Johnson.

Appointed



Earth Search Sciences Inc. announced the appointment of Luis F. Lugo as the company's CEO. Larry Vance, formerly chairman and CEO of Earth Search Sciences, will continue in his role as chairman of the board. Lugo brings experience in oil gas and other process industries. He previously served as director of Finance and Strategy for 3AG Distribution (Elf Aquitaine Oil Lubricants Venezuela) and was involved in securing capital investment and in developing the distribution system. Lugo also served as engagement manager of global chemicals and strategy practices for Arthur D. Little Management Consulting, and as strategy analyst for BP Amoco where he developed analytical and financial modeling and valuation of acquisition targets for Latin America, Europe and East Asia. Lugo holds an MBA in International Business Finance and an MA in International Economics from George Washington University in Washington, D.C.

New associates



David Reisginer has joined Waddell & Reed as a financial adviser in the Missoula area. Prior to joining Waddell & Reed, Reisinger was a city manager with Enterprise Rent-A-Car, where he worked for 10 years. As a personal financial adviser, Reisinger will help develop customized financial plans, recommend investment strategies and counsel clients throughout the area. Reisinger earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Montana.

New shareholders



Andy Short and Matt Jacobson have been made new shareholders of Territorial-Landworks, Inc. Short is a Registered Sanitarian and Jacobson is a Professional Licensed Surveyor.

Promotions

Larry Mallo has been promoted to a Professional Engineer at Territorial-Landworks, Inc. after passing the P.E. exam in April. Mallo has a B.S. in civil engineering from the University of Idaho and has been with Territorial-Landworks Inc. since 2003.

Harry Sheets has accepted a new position as training specialist at DIRECTV.

Accreditation



Child Care Resources announced that Dawn Cannon of Cannon's 24-Hour Child Care has been accredited with the National Association for Families of Child Care.

Jennifer Swartz of Child Care Resources has achieved Level VI on the Early Childhood Project's Practitioner Registry. Swartz has completed a bachelor's of arts, some graduate work in early childhood and a 700-hour internship of supervised teaching experience. Attaining Level VI means Swartz qualifies to be a full-time early childhood professional trainer.

Recognition



The Montana Pharmacy Association announced that Eric Shields of Missoula won the “Innovative Pharmacy Practice Award.” Shields is the manager of Eastgate Drug in Missoula. He received his bachelor of pharmacy degree and his Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2003 from the University of Montana.

The Montana Broadcasters Association's 2008 E.B. Craney Awards were announced June 28 at the annual EB Hall of Fame Banquet. GAP Broadcasting Missoula had four finalists including award winners: Denny Bedard, Radio Sports Enterprise for “Statewide Tailgate Party”, the University of Montana Grizzly football pregame program Saturdays on KGVO 1290 AM. Pete Denault, Radio Spot News Coverage, for “On The Scene Reporting Summer 2008 Fires in Western Montana” on KGVO 1290 AM. Steve Fullerton, Radio Program of the Year for “Radio Cavalcade of Stars” - a live 40's mystery and music program on KLYQ 1240 AM in Hamilton. Fullerton also honored runner-up, Radio Newscast of the Year for Monday-Friday 6-8 a.m. “Montana Morning Show” on KLYQ 1240 AM in Hamilton.

The following had bulls listed in the 2008 Fall Sire Evaluation Report published by the American Angus Association in Saint Joseph, Mo.: Cara P. and Thomas W. Ayres, Stevensville, one bull; Mullendore Beef Program, Missoula, two bulls; Karl and Donna Tyler, Missoula, eight bulls; Jeff and Shoni Wilson, Potomac, one bull.




The following were top producers for Lambros Real Estate ERA for June: Tory Dailey, residential; Bill Wyckman, commercial; Steve Knoll, Hamilton; Mark Nelson, Kalispell; Carol Blowars, Drummond.

Lisa Holcomb with Countrywide Home Loans was one of the top 10 loan producers for the northwest region. Holcomb has 25 years experience in the lending industry.

Rob Vallance, home loan specialist with Countrywide Home Loans, was recognized as the top mortgage producer for Region 12, that consists of Montana, Idaho, Oregon and Washington.

Elected



Two Missoula pharmacists have been elected to serve on the board of directors for the Montana Pharmacy Association. They are Tony King who is the pharmacy manager for Walgreens in Missoula and Eric Shields, the manager of Eastgate Drug in Missoula.

Missoula Businesswomen's Network installed their officers for 2008-2009. Anne Jablonski, Windermere Reality will serve as MBN president, Deirdre Flaherty, Flaherty Financial Services will serve as MBN president elect, and Frankie Flaherty, Flaherty Financial Services will serve as MBN past president.

Barbara June of Soroptimist International of Hamilton has been elected District 4 director for 2008-2010. June is semi-retired and divides her time between June Photography and Soroptimist. Chris Kelly of Soroptimist International of Missoula has been elected District 4 secretary for 2008-2010. Kelly is a senior marketing coordinator at HDR Engineering.
