Johnson's shot over the left field fence bought his Electrics an extra inning, before the Mavs plated seven runs off of four hits in the top of the 10th to take a 14-7 win over the Great Falls club in loser-out action.
Drew Lytle and Cubby Pierre each had two-run singles in the final frame to pave the way for the late Missoula rally. And while Lytle and Pierre helped to put on the finishing touches, Taylor King and Brendan Brown carried the big sticks for the team in the earlier innings.
Brown joined in with three runs as well. Brown tripled in the sixth, doubled in the eighth and singled in his second at bat in the top of the tenth.
On the mound, Brown turned in a marathon outing, surrendering six earned runs en route to a 10-inning complete game for the win. Brown finished with five strikeouts and a walk.
Johnson received the loss for Great Falls, after taking the mound in relief in the fifth inning.
Missoula moves on to face the Helena Senators, Monday at 12:30 p.m. The Senators dropped a 12-10 decision to the Bozeman Bucks to be bounced to the loser's bracket.
On the other side of the loser's bracket is the Kalispell Lakers, who eliminated the Western AA co-champion Great Falls Stallions with an 8-2 victory.
The Lakers move on to play the Billings Royals, who dropped a 7-5 decision to the Billings Scarlets in Sunday's final game. The Royals and Kalispell play Monday at 4:30 p.m.
The Bucks and Scarlets are the only undefeated teams left in the competition and will square off at 7:30 p.m.
In Saturday's scheduled 7:30 p.m. game that was delayed two hours by rain, the Scarlets beat the Electrics 14-1 in seven innings due to the 10-run margin rule.
