Letter: Scooters should park for free in Missoula

Question: If mo-peds aren’t considered motorized vehicles, and they are parked on a sidewalk, not on the street, how does that fall into the jurisdiction of the Parking Commission? Wouldn’t that be a police matter?

I realize the Parking Commission needs to get as much money as is possible, but come on! Can’t our own local government bend and flex to meet new concepts and concerns?

I don’t own a scooter, but I’m happy other people do and I’m glad to see us changing. Leave it to our local government to try and keep the status quo and make money off of it. Figure something else out.

Make free scooter parking areas throughout town. Take one or two car spots at various locations across town and designate them as free scooter parking. Problem solved. Everyone is happy - except the Parking Commission.
