A scientific approach to Scripture
By BILL HATCH

Editor’s note: The follow is a condensed version from a manuscript titled “Realizing Your True Identity: Becoming the Person God Intended You To Be” by Bill Hatch.

It is only recently that we have gotten an understanding of how the simple equation E=mc2 has unlocked mysteries of our Scriptures, particularly regarding the nature of God and how the universe was created.

To understand the nature of God, one must start at a point before the conception of our universe because whatever that is has to be God because there is no other source.

Science has concluded that this source has the following characteristics.

It is unbounded, intangible, invisible and without light. This source, which must be God, appears to be an infinity of “nothingness.” How could such a God have possibly conceived and made manifest our universe?

Consider now the characteristics of our universe that God somehow created. It has two distinguishing characteristics, mass and intelligence.

And we again ask how this nebulous God could have provided that mass and intelligence?

The answer lies in Einstein’s equation, E=mc2, where E=energy, m=mass and c2, the speed of light squared. This equation states there is a close relationship between energy, E,

and mass, m; in fact, mass can be transformed into energy.

We can also rewrite this equation so as to solve for m, rather than E. That is, m=E/c2. We now see that energy can be transformed into mass! But what are the characteristics of energy?

Isn’t energy unbounded, intangible, invisible and without light? But these are the characteristics of God!

Science has shown that God is a divine type of energy having intelligence. That is, God is intelligent energy. We perceive this God of intelligent energy as being spiritual in nature and in the presence of which we sense a feeling of deep inner peace and intense love. Our God of intelligent energy is indeed love!

“God is love, and all that dwelleth in love, dwelleth in God” (John 14:18).

With this new understanding of God’s nature, let us now discuss how the energy component of God made manifest the physical universe.

Energy, of this divine type, has a vibration and it has been theorized that if its frequency can be slowed down sufficiently, that energy will start to coagulate, eventually solidifying.

Furthermore, it can solidify to form anything that the creator desires. In this case, God desired to create the universe and God achieved this by manipulating a portion of its energy and transformed it into the mass that constitutes our universe. It has been reported that spiritual masters of the past, such as Jesusand the Hindu Babaji, had this

divine creative ability. Jesus created bread and fish to feed a multitude of people.

“And those who did eat five loaves and two fishes were about five thousand” (Mark 6:44).

It was only through applying Einstein’s equation that we were able to determine God’s true nature and show how this supreme God of intelligent energy created our universe.

Science has in essence determined that God conceived the universe and has pinpointed the time as being 13.7 billion years ago in an event quite appropriately call the Big Bang

Conception. At that instant the formation of the universe was initiated and an evolutionary process started where multitudes of galaxies began forming and eventually there were suns, with orbiting planets, and for the very first time there was light. “And God said, 'Let there be light’ and there was light” (Genesis 1:3).

When planets cooled sufficiently, where water no longer vaporized, then various forms of life started evolving, eventually culminating in the arrival of modern man with a thinking and creative mind.

At the universe’s conception, God took a portion of Itself, being spirit, and provided individualized spirits which we refer to as souls. With the arrival of modern man, these souls started entering the womb of pregnant females who would later become their mothers. Modern man then became a triumvirate Being of Body, Mind and Spirit (Soul), thereby becoming an offspring of God.

“And God said, Let us make man in our image and after our likeness” (Genesis 1:26).

The conception-to-birth sequence of the universe is like that of human beings. For humans, a male and female join together in a sexual conception and nine months later their baby is born. For the universe’s conception there was the need for participation by the equivalent of a male and female.

Remembering that God consists of two components, energy and intelligence, then one of these must be masculine and the other feminine. Since the energy component performed the masculine role of creating the massive universe, it would most likely be the male aspect, and the nonphysical intelligence component, the female aspect.

The energy (male) and the intelligence (female) aspects of God then joined together in a spiritual conception and about 13.6 billion years later (100 million years ago) modern man was “born.”

Let us now discuss creation and evolution. At the time of the Big Bang Conception, God made our souls manifest, thereby providing the spiritual aspect of our being. There is no doubt that God created our souls because no evolution was involved. In the case of making the universe manifest, we have previously determined that this involved an evolutionary process, but that process had to have been preceded by the introduction of intelligence, and that intelligence must have come from God because there was no other

source.

For someone to believe that the universe could have been made manifest without the prior introduction of God’s intelligence is like believing that a cyclone could pass over a junk yard and produce a Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

We conclude that the universe was made manifest by a combination of creation and evolution. God uses evolution as part of the creation process. Or, we might say that creation + evolution = creavolution (cre AVolution).

We now begin to see a merging of religion, science and evolution. There is a reconciliation process forming at the end of which the three will be in complete agreement. At that point the total truth will finally be revealed, and what a monumental event that will be!

“The truth will make you free (from having to rely upon faith) (John 8:32).

Bill Hatch, 84, studied physics at the University of Washington and worked as a missile engineer in California. He retired and has lived at Rock Creek for 25 years. His manuscript was rejected recently by Tate Publishing of Oklahoma. Hatch plans to publish the book himself.
