FOR SALE: Bozeman City Hall, sans help from real estate agents
Posted on August 17

By the Associated Press

BOZEMAN - The city of Bozeman is not using a real estate agent to sell City Hall, but some say it would be in the best interest of taxpayers to hire a professional.

Bids to buy the appraised $1.68 million City Hall are due by Friday, but a week before the deadline the city hadn’t received one.

Brit Fontenot, assistant to the city manager, says bids typically come in the day they’re due.

The Gallatin Association of Realtors isn’t pleased with the city’s decision to list City Hall on its own, but a Montana League of Cities and Towns spokesman said cities do it all the time.

City employees will move from the current City Hall to their new space in the renovated former city library in mid-September.
