Non profit community roundup - Radio Reading Service’s jewelry sale a success

The Montana Radio Reading Service’s seventh annual “Wear It Again” jewelry sale raised $8,584 in gross proceeds from donations collected throughout the year. Thirty-four volunteers put in more than 600 hours for the sale. In addition, MRRS has received an $800 grant from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. Volunteer readers and jewelry donations for the yearly sale are always needed.

CASA for Kids is seeking volunteers in Flathead County to be court-appointed special advocates for abused and neglected children. For an application or more information, call (406) 755-7208. The deadline to apply for an October training session is Sept. 5.

The Montana Woman Foundation will host a Glacier National Park Cultural Tour fundraiser on Sept. 6 to benefit the Montana Woman Scholarship Program. Sun Tours buses will depart from West Glacier at 9 a.m. for a trip to St. Mary’s Lodge and Resort for lunch and a return trip to West Glacier. Tickets are $75 ($70 if purchased by Aug. 20) and can be purchased at the Montana Woman office located at 1103 S. Main St., Kalispell.
