Tanner Thomas, 14
Awards: Blue Ribbon, Best of Show and the Dana Gallery ribbon and trophy as the Outstanding Junior Photographer
Using a Sony video camera,Tanner captured this individual at Missoula’s Mobash skatepark in late July. “I really like the thunderclouds in the background and on the other side you can see blue sky and it’s sunny,” he said about his entry. “I like how it’s the same person and it’s all one trick. I took all those frames out of the video and put them in Adobe photoshop. I chose the very first frame to be the background and I just cut the skater out of the other frames and pasted it onto the first shot. It’s a clip from my skater video which was also entered in the fair,” Tanner said (the new Media Arts exhibit).
