BILLINGS - The owner of a Billings bar and restaurant pleaded not guilty Monday to felony vehicular homicide while under the influence.

Ricky Steinmetz is accused of driving an ATV while drunk on Sept. 7 when the vehicle crashed in the parking lot of the Won 800 Casino on Southgate Drive. A passenger on the ATV, 38-year-old Tammy Charlton, suffered a serious head injury and died at St. Vincent Healthcare on Sept. 12.

Charlton worked for Steinmetz at the Powder Horn. They were not wearing helmets.

District Judge Gregory Todd allowed Steinmetz to remain free pending trial on previously posted bail of $25,000. He is not allowed to drink alcohol or drive, but he can continue to work at the Powder Horn bar, which he owns.
