MISSOULA (AP) - Two Los Angeles men accused of defrauding banks in Montana and four other Western states have been given prison time and ordered to pay a total of more than $290,000 in restitution.

Tony Barnes and Taroy Young were sentenced Friday in federal court in Missoula. Each had pleaded guilty to conspiracy, bank fraud and aggravated identify theft.

Barnes received more than six years in prison followed by five years of supervised release. U.S. District Judge Donald Molloy also ordered him to pay $146,900 in restitution.

Young was given more than four years in prison and five years of supervised release. He also was ordered to pay $146,900 in restitution.

Prosecutors say the two were involved in a crime ring that obtained money from banks by using false or stolen identification. They were apprehended near Dillon in January.
