Laurel man claims Montana Cash jackpot

HELENA (AP) - Dave Jansma of Laurel has claimed his $50,000 Montana Cash jackpot from the Sept. 17 drawing.

Jansma purchased his winning ticket at Jan’s IGA in Laurel. He claimed his prize Friday.

Jansma recently retired from Montana State University-Billings, where he had been a custodian for 21 years.

He said he’d known he had the winning ticket for about a month. His wife, Ella, says he was helping finish up harvest at a farm where he has worked for years.

The Jansmas plan on installing new windows and siding on their house and giving some money to their three children and four grandchildren.
