Leading the free world - Future leaders from Rattlesnake Elementary imagine being U.S. president

Daylin, 5T
Watch out world! Rattlesnake Elementary students, like all kids, already make the world a pretty awesome place - but just wait until you hear about the plans they have for the future! After discussing character traits of a good leader, students concluded: A good leader is someone you can trust (Chloe, 3M), someone who is respectful, responsible, caring, and honest.

Children truly are the future, and with that in mind, here is how the world might change if our kids had the chance to demonstrate their leadership skills as president of the United States. Students also considered who they would have help them lead the country, and developed a list of questions for the current or incoming president. Read carefully - you just may find a future president among the bunch!

Editor’s note: Participating teachers are Maribeth Rothwell, grade two; Karen Lessnau and Barbara Matz, grade three; Tiffany Hobbs, grade four, and Pat Thane, grade five.

- Angela Giuliani Opitz, Rattlesnake School counselor
