Museum of the Rockies announces layoffs
Posted on Nov. 18

By the Associated Press

BOZEMAN - Five people employed at the Museum of the Rockies in Bozeman have received layoff notices. Two others with professional appointments scheduled to end in June got word they may have to leave in January, instead.

The museum known for its paleontology collection is both a nonprofit institution and a division of Montana State University.

MSU officials say the five, pink-slipped positions largely involve the museum's fundraising campaign and the public is unlikely to see a change in museum programming.

Losing the five jobs will leave the museum with 33 employees.
