WE CARE - Emergency kit items needed for disabled

Home and Community-Based Services at Community Medical Center is assisting many people with physical disabilities in gathering items needed for emergency kits to help them be better prepared for any emergency or disaster situation. Items needed include flashlights, batteries, manual can openers, garbage bags, basic first-aid kits, duct tape and whistles. Contact Cris Fleming Bloxom at 327-4690.

A young family with a 2-year-old and newborn twins has just found a home in Missoula and is in need of basic household furniture and supplies, including at bed (full/double or queen size, a toddler bed, two cribs, infant car seat, baby changing table, dresser, chairs, dishes, sheets and blankets, towels, mop, broom, vacuum and other cleaning supplies. Other helpful items would be bus passes and grocery cards.

A woman needs help repairing a trailer for her three homeless grandchildren. She was given an older trailer, but it needs quite a bit of repair work. She needs carpet, linoleum, particleboard, bathroom fixtures and paint. She also needs help with painting, laying the linoleum and carpet, as well as installing a new bathroom floor and fixtures. If you can help, call Christian Assembly Foursquare Church at 721-6448, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

A single mother of three just lost her job in July and has not been able to find another. She is facing eviction due to lack of rent payment. Call Dustin Swalla at Big Brothers Big Sisters, 721-2380, if you can offer assistance.

A single mother of two children is struggling to get by. She was recently approved for housing, but needs money for a deposit. She is actively engaging in mental health treatment. Anything will help. Please call Yoko Ichimura, adult case manager, Western Montana Mental Health Center, 532-9753.

A single mother of two is looking for a used washing machine. Call Martha Robertson, Russell Family Resource Center, 728-2400, Ext. 4846.
