The settlement is not finalized and must still be ratified by the Board of County Commissioners, Luttschwager said, but it has been agreed upon by both parties.
“The details are still in the grinder,” Luttschwager said.
The lawsuit lists as defendants Missoula County, Sheriff Mike McMeekin, the Missoula County Detention Facility, Capt. Susan Hintz and Sgt. Jason Sorini, the officer who shot the woman. They are represented by Charles McNeil and Kathleen DeSoto.
Missoula attorneys David Paoli and Heather Latino represented the plaintiff.
Last month, a Montana civil rights group also publicized a devastating report detailing a two-year probe into the incident, which involved a 24-year-old woman referred to in the document as “Adele.”
The report, published by Disability Rights Montana, describes a “cascade of events which violated Adele's rights under Montana's Constitution, statutes, and multiple jail policies and procedures.”

" More than likely, from the way Missoula County has held problems in the past with the sergeant in question, they will pat him on the back telling him and his DRT team what masters of the universe they all are, and continue to let these people bully and intimidate both the inmates and the fellow officers that they work around. They love nothing more than to get in their fancy outfits and stick their chests out making themselves look important. There was an incident over 5 years ago where the same sergeant set up a fellow detention officer to be held hostage by two inmates in their facility, so that the DRT team could go in and use lethal force. This all happened right around the same time of budget cuts, when they were looking to cut the DRT team. To make matters worse, the female officer that they were setting up was ridiculed when she filed a complaint, SHE was repremanded for complaining about the DRT team and their leader. Missoula County really needs to pay attention to this man, or he is going to be yet ANOTHER one of their officers that ends up living their instead of working there. "

" Talk about stupid law suits, ask yourself how much harm was really done to this inmate ? You think a lot ?
For $490,000, you can peperball me any day of the week, and how many of you would say, "Yea for a half a million, go ahead hit me with it". who wouldn't...you've probably had worse days eating at the local taco stand.
Come on really, if you get my point, this inmate probably suffers more from a minor case of constipation then a pepperballing. She just a good lawyer and is whinning to get the money - SIMPLE as that. "
