Bruised Spartans hold off Helena
By the Missoulian

A banged-up Missoula Sentinel wrestling squad still managed to pick off league foe Helena High 36-25 in Western AA dual action Tuesday at the Spartans' gym.

Sentinel's Brandon Edwards (105) and David Marne (112) both stuck their opponents in the final two matches of the night to make sure the Spartans won.

The Bengals had a slim 25-24 lead heading into those two bouts.

“They competed well. Helena High is a lot tougher team than it used to be,” said Sentinel coach Ron Beck. “It was a fun dual. It came down to the end, either team could have won it.”

The Spartans were also aided by two Helena forfeits. Toby Erickson, who is headed to Boise State for wrestling, gave the Bengals their only pin of the evening.
