Posted on Jan. 8

HELENA (AP) - The National Agricultural Statistics Service will have a new director for its Montana field office.

Steve Anderson will take over in Helena on March 1.

Anderson is currently deputy director of the Colorado field office.

In Helena he replaces Peggy Stringer, who recently retired after more than 32 years of service.

Anderson was born in Washington state and was raised on a cow-calf operation. He graduated from Washington State University and began his career with USDA's Agricultural Statistics Service in the Idaho field office. His agency career later took him to North Dakota and Washington, D.C. before his move to Colorado.
