Joan and Ted McNinch
Stevensville couple renew vows for golden anniversary

Ted and Joan McNinch celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 6 by renewing their wedding vows at their Stevensville home.
Officiating at the ceremony was their grandson, the Rev. Nathan Lant. Attending the couple were Richard and Bonnie McNinch.
A reception followed at the Stevensville Senior Center with more than 100 friends and relatives from near and far attending. Hosts were their children, Jim and Kari McNinch and Maggie McKee; and grandchildren.
Of their six grandchildren, only Bradley McNinch was unable to attend because is serving in Uzbekistan. The couple also has one great-grandchild with two more on the way.
Ted McNinch and Joan Wenger were raised in Beaverhead County and got married on Sept. 5, 1953, in Dillon.
Ted, a craftsman in leather work, worked at Johnson Saddlery. In 1955 the couple moved to Stevensville and made their home at Bass Creek. They ranched, then developed the family business of Bass Creek Post and Pole, which later expanded to Bass Creek Logging.
