New business

John Flink launched Comment.com, an online customer-feedback tool that enables consumers to comment directly to more than 17 million businesses in the U.S. The site made its official debut at TechCrunch 50 in San Francisco in mid-September. Consumers who visit Comment.com enter the name of a company they'd like to talk to and then receive a comment form. The comments are then sent directly to managers or owners.

Relocation

Main Street Pilates Studio, LLC, has relocated to 207 E. Main St. in Sorella's Day Spa. Main Street Pilates Studio offers certified instruction in private/semiprivate pilates sessions, as well as group classes. The studio also hosts Power Pilates Teacher Training.

New associates

Michael Dunlevy is the new manager of Taco Sano. Dunlevy received a bachelor's degree in business from the University of Montana.

Adam Hertz has joined American Mortgage of Montana, 704 W. Sussex Ave., as a loan assistant. Hertz graduated with a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Montana in 2008. His experience includes working as a client associate intern with the Great Northern Group at Merrill Lynch in Missoula, and as a client associate for Seattle wealth management firm Laird Norton Tyee.

GAP Broadcasting Missoula (KYSS, KBAZ, KGVO, KENR, KVWE, KMPT and KLYQ Radio) has hired two new account executives. Kaylene Nelson returns to GAP, having worked there from 2004-07. She was inducted into the Jim Manning Society in 2006. Sharon Harris joins GAP with more than four years of broadcasting experience in Missoula and is a two-time Manning award inductee. Her prior work includes 13 years at St. Patrick Hospital.

Nancy Swan has joined the skin care team at Sorella's Day Spa.  Swan is a nationally certified massage therapist and licensed esthetician. She is a graduate of Good Medicine Massage School and the San Fransisco Institute of Esthetics and Cosmetology. She previously taught massage at the Acupressure Institute in Berkeley, Calif. Swan performs facials, full body waxing and eye lash and brow tinting.

Jennifer Hendrickson has joined the skin care team at Sorella's Day Spa. She is a licensed esthetician and graduated from the Jean Madeline Aveda Institute. She specializes in full-body waxing, facials and eye lash and brow tinting.

Promotions

Alena Gostnell, receptionist for the Missoula Developmental Service Corp., has been promoted to scheduling manager. MDSC provides services to adults with developmental disabilities. In this role, Gostnell is responsible for scheduling staff into open shifts throughout the week, ensuring the highest quality of service to consumers.

Summer Franck, a habilitation assistant from Missoula Development Service Corp., has been promoted to assistant manager at her group home. With this promotion, Franck will provide her staff leadership while continuing to provide direct care to consumers.

Certification

Karl Westenfelder, M.D.; Garrick Simmons, M.D.; Kevin Kronner, M.D.; and William Graber, M.D., urologists with Five Valleys Urology in Missoula, completed all requirements for re-certification as diplomates in the American Board of Urology.

Recognition

The Community Dispute Resolution Center of Missoula County presented awards to three outstanding volunteers for their mediation work. Abby Rivenbark received the Sharon Auerbach Volunteer of the Year Award. Rivenbark is a law student at the University of Montana. Annie Hamilton received the Long Term Commitment to the CDRC award. Hamilton has volunteered with CDRC for more than 10 years. She received her law degree from the University of Montana in 1988. Noel Stout received the Consistent, Quality Mediations by a Rookie award. Stoute is a retired businessman who was trained in mediation in May 2008. Since then, he has done more mediations than anyone else in the volunteer ranks, settling close to all his cases.

The KGVO News Team received the Joe Durso Award for Excellence in Broadcast Journalism for the Montana Morning News. The program is produced by news director Pete Deneault and anchored by Peter Christian.

Local dental practitioner Dr. Kevin A. Miltko was inducted as a Fellow of the International College of Dentists at its 80th Annual Convocation in Honolulu on Oct. 2.

The following were Top Producers for September for Lambros Real Estate - Katy Anderson and Shirley Simonson, residential; Bill and Barb McQuirk, commercial; Tina Holmes, Helena; essie Evans, Hamilton; Irene Marchello, Polson; and Heather Gooden, Frenchtown.

Elected

The Missoula Cultural Council elected the following officers for 2010: Cindy Klette, Lambros Real Estate, president; Carol Stovall, International Choral Festival, vice president; Dann Swallow, Youth Homes Inc., treasurer; Sage Grendahl, Missoula Convention and Visitors Bureau, secretary. Board members elected were Stan Anglen, Headwaters Printing; Rod Austin, Missoula Business Improvement District; Marilyn Bruya, professor emeritus, University of Montana; Terry Conrad, Montana Public Radio; Judy Hartz, editor and artist; Ram Murphy, Murphy-Jubb Fine Art; Deborah Stapely-Graham, U.S. Bank; and Rick Wishcamper, Rocky Mountain Development Group.

Shelley Bundy of Prudential Montana Real Estate has been elected to serve on the board of the Kiwanis Club as the community services chair.

The Montana District of Kiwanis elected Glen Wheeler, a member of the Sentinel Kiwanis Club in Missoula, as the district governor for 2009-10. As governor he will preside over 42 Kiwanis Clubs in Montana and Idaho. Wheeler has been a member of Sentinel Kiwanis since 1995.

Sentinel Kiwanis of Missoula elected the following officers: Claudia Denker, immediate past president; Keith Dowling, president; Michele Wheeler, president elect; Bill Nolan, vice president; Mary Oestreich, secretary; and Gary Hughes, treasurer. Board members include Mike Burnside, Chris Hale, Jennifer Harper, Bill Hoffman, Kevin Johnson, Joshua Jones, Roger Mull and Tim Ondrak.

Adventure Cycling Association cartographer Jennifer Milyko was recently elected to the North American Cartographic Information Society's board of directors during its annual meeting in Sacramento, Calif.

New members
