BOZEMAN - Montana State University plans to ask the state Board of Regents for permission to take over the administration of college of technology classes taught on the Bozeman campus.
Currently, students seeking two-year degrees in aviation technology, drafting design and interior design or a certificate in welding technology take classes on campus at MSU, but the admissions and financial aid work is done through the MSU College of Technology in Great Falls.
MSU proposes taking over administration of those programs as well as the remedial English and math classes offered by the COT for otherwise degree-seeking students at MSU.
This fall, there are about 100 COT students in Bozeman studying aviation, design or welding and 670 students taking remedial math and English.
The Board of Regents is meeting Thursday and Friday in Bozeman.
