Happy Friday, western Montana! The workweek will end with a relatively mild day, with highs of 50 in Missoula, 51 in Hamilton, 49 in Kalispell and 48 in Polson.
But a series of weather system are headed this way, and the weekend ahead will be rainy and snowy.
Already, winter weather advisories have been issued for the mountains of north-central Idaho.
In Missoula, the National Weather Service says to expect snow tonight after 11 p.m., with an overnight low of 28 degrees and winds from the west-northwest.
The chance of precipitation overnight is 90 percent, with an inch of snow likely in the valley bottom.
Here's a look at the Weather Service's weekend forecast:
Saturday: A 50 percent chance of snow showers, mainly before 11am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 32. West wind between 13 and 17 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
Saturday Night: A 20 percent chance of snow after 11pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 23. South southwest wind around 7 mph.
Sunday: A 50 percent chance of snow showers. Cloudy, with a high near 35. West southwest wind between 7 and 13 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph.
Sunday Night: A 30 percent chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 25.
