CORVALLIS, Ore. - Sacramento State led by 22 points at halftime and withstood a furious rally to defeat Oregon State 65-63 on Saturday.

Sultan Toles-Bey led Sacramento State with 17 points and six rebounds. Justin Eller scored 12 points off the bench and Michael Selling had 10 rebounds for the Hornets (3-2), who surpassed their win total from last season, when the team went 2-27.

Seth Tarver had 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Beavers (1-3) and Calvin Haynes added 11 points.

Joe Burton put the Beavers ahead 60-58 after a bucket with 2:41 remaining.

Toles-Bey responded with a layup. After the Beavers missed a shot, Toles-Bey was fouled and made both free throws to put the Hornets ahead for good with 1:34 left.

The Beavers had a chance to tie the game in the final seconds, but Haynes missed a short jumper and Lathen Wallace couldn't get up a shot.

It was Sacramento State's first win against Oregon State in six tries. The Hornets are 2-30 all-time against Pac-10 opponents.

Sacramento State led 44-22 at halftime after making 9 of 15 3-point attempts.

In the second half, Oregon State turned up the defensive pressure, and the Hornets tried to spread the floor on many possessions to protect the lead.

Idaho State 77, Colorado Christian 60: At Pocatello, Idaho, Idaho State defeated Division II Colorado Christian led by the 25 points, five rebounds and three assists from senior guard Amorrow Morgan.

Idaho State (1-3) also got a big game from senior forward Demetrius Monroe, who recorded a double-double with 12 points and a team-leading 12 rebounds. Guard Broderick Gilchrest scored 16 points for the Bengals.

Colorado Christian (0-3) was led by 6-11 forward Justin Neuhaus, who had 23 points, five rebounds and three assists. Neuhaus hit 15 of 16 free-throw attempts.

Eastern Washington 72, Texas-Arlington 68: At Arlington, Texas, Jeffrey Forbes' 24 points helped lead the Eastern Washington Eagles to a victory over the University of Texas-Arlington.

Forbes was 10-of-16 from the field and grabbed four rebounds. Alden Gibbs and Mark Dunn each added 11 points in the winning effort for the Eagles (2-2).

Marquez Haynes scored 32 points for the Mavericks (1-2). He was 12-for-17 from the field, including a 5-for-6 performance from the 3-point line. He also committed nine turnovers. LaMarcus Reed added 13 points for the Mavericks.

Lorenzo Keeler led Cal Poly (0-3) with 20 points. Will Donahue added 14 points and Charles Anderson had 13 off the bench.

Southern Mississippi 66, Montana State 62: At Bozeman, junior forward Gary Flowers scored a game-high 18 points, including seven straight in the final 1 minute 22 seconds, to help Southern Mississippi rally from a 13-point second-half deficit to defeat Montana State.

The Golden Eagles (3-0) were trailing 51-38 with 11:47 to play when they went on a 19-2 run to lead 57-53 with 4:14 remaining.

Montana State (1-2) tied it at 57 on a basket by junior forward Bobby Howard with 2:44 to go, but Flowers scored Southern Mississippi's next seven points - including a free throw with 39.4 seconds to go that put the Golden Eagles ahead for good.

Northern Colorado 70, Air Force 46: At Air Force Academy, Colo., Devon Beitzel had a season-high 26 points to lead Northern Colorado to a win over Air Force in the championship game of the Reggie Minton Air Force Classic.

The victory ended the Bears' 12-game losing streak to the Falcons (2-1) and was Northern Colorado's first win over Air Force in more than 50 years. Northern Colorado's last win over Air Force came on Feb. 16, 1957.

Northern Colorado (5-0) scored the first 12 points of the game, with Air Force's first basket coming at the 14:08 mark. The Falcons were 0-for-17 from 3-point range and shot just 32.6 percent from the field in the loss.
